B12 (METHYLCOBALAMIN)

Sapien opted for the biologically active form of this essential B vs the synthetic cobalamin. B12 works with vitamin B9 to produce red blood cells and help iron do its job: creating the oxygen carrying protein,
hemoglobin. B12’s focus is aiding the central nervous system – helps maintain the health of nerve cells and the protective covering of nerves called the myelin sheath.

Sources: Animal foods are the only natural source of vitamin B12, but many products, including soy products and cereals, are fortified with B12. Other good natural sources include shellfish, such as clams, mussels, crab, and beef.

B1 & B2

Deficiencies in thiamine and riboflavin generally don’t pose a problem in the United States. This is due to the fact that many foods, such as milk and whole-grain cereals, are fortified with the vitamins. It can become an issue with people who misuse alcohol, however, presenting symptoms such as confusion and cracks along the sides of the mouth.
